Which is Better: Learning Coding on Udemy or W3Schools?

One of my friends is diving headfirst into the world of coding and recently posed a question: Should they learn on Udemy or W3Schools? As someone who champions an open-minded approach to learning, my response was a simple 'Why not both?'

After all, both platforms are fantastic resources that can supercharge your coding journey.

Udemy: A Treasure Trove of Courses

Udemy is renowned for its extensive library of online courses. It's a go-to destination for in-depth lessons on a wide range of coding languages and frameworks. Whether you're a beginner or looking to level up your skills, Udemy offers a plethora of courses taught by industry experts. The flexibility to learn at your own pace and the vast community of instructors and learners make Udemy an invaluable resource.

W3Schools: The Web Developer's Handbook

On the other hand, W3Schools has been a trusted companion for web developers for years. It's an online platform that offers tutorials and references on web development languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and more. W3Schools' interactive learning approach and easy-to-digest content make it an ideal choice for anyone venturing into web development.

Why Not Both?

Here's the beauty of it: you don't have to choose. There's no rule that says you can't benefit from both Udemy and W3Schools. In fact, a dual approach to learning can be highly effective. Use Udemy for comprehensive, structured courses, and turn to W3Schools for quick references and hands-on practice. They complement each other splendidly.

Udemy, I choose. but if you are too beginner then w3school you may face language barrier while learning through Udemy lectures. I think so both are good and there are a lot other YouTube channel where you can learn also

It will be better if you buy Udemy but still keep visiting w3schools for the same topics.. there's always something new you can find.

In my experience, W3school for fundamental learning and Udemy for better understanding. Both are actually great platforms. They complement each other. Different perspectives and approaches can be very enriching.

W3School better, but it is for beginners. Udemy's content depends on the creator of the course. W3School is mostly basic to intermediate, so it's good for beginners, while Udemy can have advance courses.

W3school is good for practice. But for a detail version of certain topics and to build concepts Udemy or Coursera they're good.

Also lots of great free content on YouTube.

But if you're in need of certification, then definitely Udemy, which is actually worth something, instead of w3schools's rather iffy certificates.

W3schools is mostly fine, though... Just a little outdated and a VERY bad rap among senior devs.

So, the next time you find yourself at the crossroads of online learning, consider this: why limit yourself to just one platform? Embrace the best of both worlds, and let Udemy and W3Schools be your trusty allies in your coding adventure. Happy coding!"
